2017 Events


Sunday November 26th - 9AM - 1PM

This is the Big One you do not want to miss !!!! Hooters as usual will help us close out the season!!!!

Hooters has traditionally hosted us on this weekend as we blow the leaves off of the palm trees with over 200 MOPARs. Once again we will do our traditional Wing display of Superbirds and Daytonas lined up in the back row along with our great raffles.

For our newest members Hooters is located just off Rt 110 (Northbound side), just north of Adventureland on Smith St across from the College.

Arrive early as we create all sorts of mayhem and take over the parking lot!!!

"Hot Rod" Burger King -  4201 Hempstead Tpke, Bethpage - Map of location here.
 


 This location is always a Club favorite. Bethpage Burger King has a long and rich history of being the Hot Rod hang out back in the 70's. The lot always fills up quickly so it's a good idea to arrive early.

B.K. is located on Rt 24 1/4 mi. West of Rt 135 (W/B side).

As usual this should be another great event. Again it's this Sunday weather permitting!!

Applebee's - 300 Motor Pkwy, Brentwood -

Everyone has enjoyed this location over the last few years.  Since it's a little further east...it can be a nice mini cruise for some and it also brings in some Members from out east.

We will be in Applebee's large wide open parking lot as this event always brings down some special cars.  From what I am told there is a new outside patio. 10% off on food.

Applebee's is located on Motor Pkwy on the north side of the LIE just east of Wicks Rd.

 

Sunday, September 10th - 9AM - 3PM
Cruisin' For a Cure - 1400 Old Country Rd, Westbury. Map of location here.

This event just gets BIGGER AND BETTER every year (this is the 12th year and it draws approximately 500 cars). The best part is it's all for a great cause....Prostate Cancer. There is also free PSA testing for early detection.

Other attractions include Dee Jay Fonzie - The Food Court -Vendors and Kids Model Race Car Track.

Owner Will has previously hosted us at his location in Syosset and graciously plans to do it again. Will has a new location with many interesting vehicles for sale. This location is located on Smith Street (just down the block from Hooters). Cross over New Highway and it is on the right.


Sunday, August 20th - 11AM - 3PM
Atlantic Dodge (formerly Herbee Dodge) - 130 Sunrise Highway, West Islip.  Map of location here.

This is an old classic which is being brought back by our good friends at Atlantic Dodge. This dealership was one of the first in putting on some great shows at their Dealership years ago. Everyone I have recently mentioned this show stated the same thing..."I remember the shows there...they were fun!".

The dealership is on the Rt 27 E/B service Rd just E/O Rt 231.

Our generous friends at Pep Boys have decided to invite us back to their store in Lindenhurst once again. 

The store is located on the east bound side of Rt 27 just east of Wellwood Ave.  Make a quick right just after the RR tressel.

When entering the lot please park at the curb adjacent to Sunrise highway so store patrons can access the store easily.

This should be a great time once again!

This location has simply become a club standard that never gets stale and is always a crowd pleaser.

Bethpage Burger King has a very rich heritage of being the Hot Rod hang out dating back in the 70's. This is always a great event in which we fill up the parking lot.

Burger King located on Rt. 24 1/4 mi. west of Rt 135 (westbound side). Arrive early for a good spot.

Now this looks like a very interesting shop. Owner Chris has invited us to his Hot Rod shop. Chris does everything known to man to boost crazy horsepower out of your engine, he even has a dyno and is raffling off a free dyno pull to the Club along with discounting a dyno pull for everyone ($50).

Should be a very cool event!

One of the events we have planned is one in which we attended last year. We were part of a great event for a super Charity...Hope for the Warriors at Millers Ale House in Commack. Since we had such a great showing, we have been invited back by our friends at Millers. The flyer is below. If you can please save the date.

We will officially kick off our season with one of our best.

This location is always a crowd favorite. Bethpage Burger King has a very rich heritage of being the Hot Rod hang out back in the 70's. This is a great event and we continually fill up the parking lot. It's located on Rt. 24 1/4 mi. West of Rt 135 (westbound side).  Arrive early for a good spot.

For our newest members Hooters in just off Rt 110 (Northbound side), just north of Adventureland on Smith St across from the College.

Arrive early as we create all sorts of mayhem and take over the parking lot!

It does NOT get any better than this one!

Toys for Tots - Miller's Ale House -

This is a new event for us and it is a great charity. We will meet up with the Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, in the Deer Park Miller's. Free bagels and coffee. We then cruise to Millers Ale House of Levittown on Hempstead Tpke at 11 A.M. Ride ends with Free Lunch!

Donation for the kids is $10 Per person with an unwrapped toy (they request no stuffed animals) or $20 without a toy.

This is a great and worthwhile Charity to bring some joy to young kids that do not have much at all, and it's always great to take a Club cruise together.

Everyone has really enjoyed this event over the last few years.  Club member Barry has always been a great host and allowed us to use his parking lot.  Once again it will be the Club's official swap meet, so any parts you have to sell... bring them down!!

For those new to the Club, Allen Blvd is on the east side of Rt 110 ( N/B side) approx. 1 Mile N/O the Southern State Parkway. (For reference turn right at the U- Haul located on the corner).

On Sunday Sept 18th we as a Club will be attending a great event which attracts many cars and is a great Charity for Prostate cancer.
We will have designated parking so we can PARK TOGETHER AS A CLUB. There is Prostate testing, Food, DJ, Vendors etc.

Preregister at www.licruizinforacure.com by September 7th, and don't forget to list L.I. Mopars as your Club affiliation so we can get our designated spot.

ALL CLUB CARS MUST BE TO THE SHOW PRIOR TO 8:30 A.M. IF YOU WANT TO PARK WITH YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS !!!

This is always a great show and most important is all for a great charity.

If you have never been to a show at Paul's, this is a great event you do not want to miss.  Paul has the largest restoration shop on L.I. with at least 25 restorations going on at any given moment.  The shop is wide open for a complete tour and it's truly amazing to see the restorations in progress!  This will be a great event with food, raffles and giveaways.

Arrive early for a good spot.

We will be in Applebee's large wide open parking lot as this event always brings down some special cars from our friends that live further out to the east.

From what I am told there is a new patio outside. It is located on Motor Pkwy on the north side of the LIE (W/B side) just east of Wicks Rd.
Should be a nice turnout as it begins to cool down this week.

We have been to this location before...but it was previously known as Hooters.  We were also at the other Green Turtle last year where a breakfast was provided compliments of Club Member Joe P.    

There is a nice private parking lot in the back of the building.  If you feel like grabbing something to eat just walk right in.  Should be interesting to see how things look now.

L.I. Mopars Members,

I have decided to add another event with a nice little cruise for this Sunday. This is the last weekend before the Park at Captree begins to collect its fees.

We will be meeting early this Sunday at 8 A.M. at Lowes of Bayshore (west end) and leave by 8:30. We will take a leisurely cruise down Robert Moses Causeway over the bridges. We will pull into the Boat Basin as a Club and park together. Always fun to watch the expressions as car people witness our Club's MOPARs rolling in together.

Our friend Rich at Miller's is hosting another great event with East To West Classic Cars and our Club. This is a fundraiser car show for Hope For the Warriors, a national Non-Profit for post 9-11 service members, their families and those killed in action.  Donation is $15 per car.

There will be live music, and a prize raffle.  First 250 cars receive a gift bag with a 20% off food coupon.  WBAB radio station will also be on scene and there will besome great live music.

Take Rt 25 east into Commack and the Restaurant is located on the E/B side set back in a shopping center just to the west of the Sagtikos Pkwy S/B exit ramp.

Once again we will do our traditional Wing display of Superbirds and Daytonas lined up in the back row. 10% discount on meals. This is the one you do not want to miss!!

For our newest members Hooters in just off Rt 110 (Northbound side), just north of Adventureland on Smith St across from the College.

Arrive early as we create all sorts of mayhem and take over the parking lot!!


Sunday, November 22nd - 11AM - 3PM
Pole Position Raceway - 40 Daniel Street, Farmingdale. Map of location here.

This is a brand new location for us. It is an indoor go-carting track that has hosted many other car Clubs. It is a fairly new facility with electric go carts. Normal rates are $30 per race but we have a group rate of $20 per race.

Pole Position is located on the S/B side of Rt 110 approximately 2 miles N/O Rt 24. We will be parking on the left side of the building.
Pole Position is located on the same street as BJ's Wholesale.

This should be a fun event to bring out the kid in all of us.

This is a brand new venue for us. It is basically a large warehouse where many cars are stored, repaired and sold. These are high end cars of all varieties. (There are a few Mopars in there too). We may have a little tour to describe some of the cars.

The venue is located directly across the street from the Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike.

This will be something quite different !!!!



Sunday, September 26th - 8:45AM - 6PM

Cruise To the Show -

 This is our yearly trip to the Eisenhower show which will be extra special this year.  Instead of joining the Sunday crowd we will be attending on Saturday and it will be MOPARS ONLY.  I am predicting there will be approximately 500 Mopars in attendance.

We will meet at the Westbury TGI Friday's at 829 Merrick Ave again, and do our own mini cruise in.  We will meet at 8:45 A.M. and leave at 9:15 sharp.  We have been promised reserved spots and will park as a Club along with our friend Shawn and his Modern Mopar Club.

This should be a great one that you don't want to miss. It's like a mini Carlisle without the drive.  Application and show details here.

This is a regular Saturday night Cruise location.  This location attracts many cars in its wide open parking lot.  There is a McDonalds also in the lot in the event you get a little hungry.  It is located on the W/B side of Rt 27 ( off of the Service Rd ) and approximately 1 mile W/O the Sagtikos Pkwy.

Now with the big Carlisle event behind us it's time to take another cruise...mini cruise that is.

Stop and Shop Smithtown on Rt 25 - Saturday, July 25th - 6:30 P.M.

We are going to repeat the fun time we had last year. We will meet at Lowes of Bayshore on Rt 27 (east bound side just east of the Sag). We will meet at 5:30 P.M.

We will start our leisurely cruise up the Sag by 6:00 P.M. We will pull in together as a group to show off our Mopar pride.

For those new to the Club, Stop and Shop is just east of the Bull on the north side of Rt 25. Again it is this Saturday !!!

It's always a blast and makes for some great picture taking.

This location has always been a Club favorite and T & C have cordially invited us back again.  They have an interesting layout with the upper level which makes for some great picture taking.  This event always brings out some very interesting cars and the Dealer has some modern day Mopars on display.  T & C is just west of the Wantagh Pkwy on the E/B side.
 

Sunday, April 19th - 9AM - 1:00PM
The Green Turtle - 700 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square.

This was a brand new location for us last year and was mucho fun. The Green Turtle is at the location of the old Metro 700 on Hempstead Tpke.

The Green Turtle is a great Sports Bar and Grill with a nice size parking lot. We are doing this in conjunction with Joe of Joe's muscle car garage.  It is located on the W/B side just to the west of a TD Bank at Caroline Ave.  Come down for a cup of coffee.

This is a brand new location for us.  The Green Turtle is at the location of the old Metro 700 on Hempstead Turnpike.

The Green Turtle is a great Sports Bar and Grill with a nice size parking lot.  We are doing this in conjunction with Joe of Joe's muscle car garage.  It is located on the W/B side just to the west of a TD Bank at Caroline Ave.  Breakfast will be served.


Saturday, October 25th - 11AM - 3PM

This is a brand new location for us.  Miller's Ale House is hosting us in their very large parking lot and also making this a charitable event for the Smithtown Emergency Food Pantry.  Please bring anything you can for those that are truly in need. (suggested items include pasta sauce, macaroni & cheese, soup, canned fruit, rice, pork & beans, fruit juice, cereal, tuna fish, peanut butter, jelly, and canned meats ...or you can contribute through a monetary donation).

Each car owner will receive a bracelet for 25% of their check except for alcohol.  Lets show our support for this Charity.  Take Rt 25 East and the Restaurant is located the E/B side in the Shopping Center just before the Sagtikos Pkwy.



Sunday, October 12th - 11AM - 3PM

We have decided to continue into fall with Hot Rod Burger King of Bethpage.  This venue with its rich heritage as a uscle car hangout, is always a crowd favorite...and great way to help wind down our season.

We will be meeting this Sunday from 11 - 3.  For those not familiar with the location, it's on the W/B side of Rt 24 approx 1/2 mile W/O Rt 135.


Sunday, September 28th - 10AM - 5PM

Cruise To the Show -  Eisenhower Park.

This is  a very large show put on by Nassau County and Executive Ed Mangano.  We have attended this show twice and are the largest Club in attendance.  We will have our own parking area.

If you wish, you can join the 7 mile Parade from Briarcliff College.  Early bird registration ends on Sept 12th and is normally $15 but we were granted a Club discount and will pay $12... but only by mail.  Mail-in application downloadable here.  Online registration at cruisetotheshow.com.  After the 19th registration is $25 at the gate.  Again we will have our own designated area for parking.

We will again do our own mini cruise in as a Club from T.G.I. Fridays.  T.G.I. Fridays is located at 29 Merrick Ave in Westbury. We will meet at 8:00AM and leave at 8:30.

2nd ANNUAL MODERN MOPAR FESTIVAL - Airport Plaza, Rt 110, Farmingdale (Next to Applebee's).  Map of location here.

This  is a new location and event for the Club.  We are going to team up with our brothers of the Modern Mopar Club.  This is their second event and I am told last year drew approximately 100 cars.  We have been invited to join in on the fun, bring any Mopar you own and turn this into something really big. This event is also to raise money for the American Diabetes Association so there will be many prizes raffled off. This is a very large parking lot and should be a blast!  See flyer here.

This is a last minute event I decided to add since many enjoy the cooler evening events this time of year. Everyone has enjoyed this location over the last few years.  We will be in Applebee's large, wide open parking lot as this event always brings down some special cars. 

Applebee's is located on Motor Pkwy on the north side of the LIE just east of Wicks Rd.

This location has always been a Club favorite and T & C have invited us back.  They have an interesting layout with the upper level which  makes for some great picture taking.  This event always brings out some very interesting cars.  Hot dogs will be served.  T & C is just east of the Wantagh Pkwy on the eastbound side.

Cruise from Lowes to Stop and Shop

We are bringing back the physical cruise again.  We are going to meet at Lowes of Bayshore at 5:30PM and leave at 6PM sharp.

We will take a leisurely cruise up the Sag and east to the
Stop and Shop in Smithtown located on Rt 25A.  For new members the Lowes Store is located on the E/B side of Rt 27 just E/O the Sag. This should be a fun event to show your Mopar pride as we cruise in together.

Our friends at Pep Boys have decided to invite us back to this great location in Lindenhurst.  They will once again offer the Club a discount.  

Pep Boys is on the eastbound side, east of Wellwood Ave.  Make a quick right just after the RR tressel.  When entering the lot please park at the curb adjacent to Sunrise highway.  This should be a fun time!!

This is a brand new location for us.  It is a nice Family restaurant and is also sports bar.  It is set back off from Rt 110.  It's a great place to have lunch with your fellow Club members and enjoy the cars in their nice parking lot.  I am told special guests will be the ladies of the Roller Derby.  There is 10% off on food and drinks.

Restaurant is located on the Northbound side of Rt 110 approximately 1 mile north of the RR overpass which is just north of the Home Depot. Again it is set back from Rt 110.

This is another event we have done over the last few year's with great success.  We will be in Applebee's large, wide open parking lot.  This event always brings down some special cars.  It is located on Motor Pkwy on the north side of the LIE just east of Wicks Rd.

Once again Club member Barry has been kind enough to invite us back to his store in Farmingdale.

Barry is providing us with breakfast and the Bakery across the street is also supplying some goodies (please don't forget to patronize these businesses).

Barry has also permitted us to have our third annual swap meet at his location. It was a big hit the last 2 years .... so bring all the Mopar items you would like to sell.  Also, Barry has his very own Dash illumination kit avail for anyone with a classic Challenger.  If you would like to purchase the kit and have it installed at the show or for more questions, please call him ahead of time at (631) 694-2503.

For those new to the club, Allen Blvd is on the east side of Rt 110 (N/B side) approx 1 mi N/O the Southern State Pkwy. (There is a U-Haul Rental located on the corner). This should be a blast again!!!

We have decided to continue our season with our traditional opening event (for the Club) at Hot Rod Burger King of Bethpage. This venue with its rich heritage as a Muscle car hangout, is always a crowd favorite...and great way to continue our season.

We will be meeting this Sunday April 13th from 11 - 3. For those not familiar with the location it is on the W/B side of Rt 24 approx 1/2 mile W/O Rt 135.

L.I. Mopars Members,

Well Members, it has been a long and hard winter and I am sure everyone is eager to get out. We are going to start off the season with a great event. We did this event last year and everyone really enjoyed it...and it also looked waaay cool.

We will be meeting at Lowe's of Bayshore (as we have for the beach show in September) and cruise down to the Captree Boat Basin as a Club...(it always makes for great picture taking over the bridges).

We will meet early at 8:30 A.M. at Lowes (since Captree can fill up quick) and leave by 9:00.

The weather is expected to be fairly good and it should be a nice ride. There is coffee, food and bathrooms available at the Boat Basin.

Hope to see all members join in the cruise together and show their Mopar Pride !!!!

This is the big Kahuna!!!!  Hooters is back and and will help us close out the season with our grand finale.  Hooters hosted us 2 years ago and we showed up with approximately 140 cars.  This is the one you do not want to miss!!!!

Hooters in on Rt 110 just north of Adventureland across from the College.  Arrive early as we will create all sorts of mayhem as we take over the parking lot.

This is the 16th annual Car Show/Swap Meet/Flea Market at Bald Hill. There is something for everyone as it is a great benefit for the Blind and Hearing Impaired. There will be vendors, food concessions a D.J.and live band. There are over 130 trophies awarded.

Our Cruise will start at the Lowes of Bayshore. We will meet at 8:00AM (leave at 8:30AM) and cruise up the Sag and E. on to the Expressway. If not joining the Cruise take the LIE exit 63N (approx. 1 mi.) and exit on to Bicycle Path. Make first left and another left into show. This event is for a great cause.

This is  a very large show put on by Nassau's County Exec. Ed Mangano. We attended this show two years ago and were the largest Club in attendance. If you wish, you can join the 7 mile Parade from Briarcliff College. Our gracious host Paul has decided again this year to invite us back to his Restoration shop for a very special show. This will be the unveiling of the Calero build GTO. This should be a very special event as Paul Honors an American Hero and hands the keys over to the Family of Major Jeffery Calero after his extensive restoration which he donated many hours to this cause. This should be a historic moment.
Paul's will again let us tour his shop which is always quite amazing. At any given moment I'm guessing there must be at least 20 way cool cars undergoing restoration at the same time.  We will be teaming up with many of Paul's friends and this should be as usual ....another killer event.

This event is the Domestic American Cars take on the Imports.  This location is always a great weekly cruise location due to the fact that it takes place in a huge parking lot away from everything. There will be a DJ, vendors, giveaways, trophyies and prizes.  Take the LIE to Ex. 63 North approx 2 mi. Make a right after the green sign for Bicycle Path. Then make the next left. Entrance is on the left. 
There is a $10 entrance fee. They are expecting many cars for this event. 

Saturday, August 24th - 6PM - 10 PM

This is a great event we have done three times already with great success. We will be meeting in Applebee's wide open parking lot. This event always brings down some special cars and moves things a little further east. It is located on Motor Pkwy on the north side of the LIE just east of Wicks Rd.

HOOTERS IS BACK!!!

Hooters left this location for a while but the Palm tree's are back!!!  I can only say one thing about this location 2 years ago on Thanksgiving weekend...out of control. We had over 140 cars show up which set a new club record.  We had members from far away as Staten Island join us. This should be another killer event. 10% off on food. Hooters is located across from S.U.N.Y at Farmingdale.

I have managed to obtain our own reserved Mopar parking area with the help of member Bill B. Arrive early since our designated club spaces will fill up quickly.

Rockville Center Street Fair and Car Show - (Behind 36 Lincoln Ave,) Rockville Center

This is a new piggy back event for us. This is not only a car show but a Street Fair with crafts,food and entertainment. The Super Cruisers Nostalgia Car Club will also be there.

(Directions from the east) Go west on Sunrise Highway make a Left on Morris Ave,Right on Merrick Ave, and a Left on Park Ave.
(Directions from the west) Head east on Merrick Ave and make a Right on Park Ave.

Auto Zone Parts Stores have decided to host us for an event at one of their locations. This is a very large lot with plenty of room for parking. Bergman Auto Craft is the proud host of the May 19th meeting of the Long Island Mopars. BAC is a new shop specializing in the repair, modification and building of Mopar branded vehicles. The facility is also a producer of several new products required to update Mopar vehicles to modern standards. Meet Peter Bergman and all the shop has to offer.

Take Rt 110 north and make your 1st right on Broadway after the railroad trestle. Go down about a half mile to Enterprise Rental Cars and make a right into complex, Bergman Auto Craft is inside on the left. This event is guaranteed be a fun time! Map of location here.
